Ellingham Water Ski and Wakeboard Club is a small ‘members club’, affiliated to the British Water Ski Federation (BWSF). The club is set on the edge of a 45-acre lake leased from Wessex Water near Ringwood in Hampshire. It has over 120 able bodied members. The club also has a very active Disabled Membership and is the centre for ‘Water Skiing for the Disabled’ in the South West of England. The first Saturday of each month is dedicated to teaching people with disabilities to ski, between 9am – 4pm. At normal times we cater mainly for our members who enjoy some of the best facilities in the area. We have the only full slalom course within 80 miles, the latest competition standard boats, and as we run on a not-for-profit basis we keep skiing as affordable amd accessible as possible. Because we are not a commercial operation our sole aim is to encourage all forms of 'behind the boat' water sports and therefore welcome visitors as much as possible. The club belongs to the members and is run by an elected committee solely for their benefit. It is non-profit making; monies received by the club from memberships, tow charges or social events go towards the maintenance of the club and its facilities. To prevent excessive queuing there is a cap in total membership numbers. Currently, there are limited membership vacancies available. There is a waiting list which give you priority for the following year. Details can be found on the 'Joining The Club' page. Jamie Bloemsma, a member of the club, operates the club on a day to day basis. |
