Disabled Waterskiing

The club is clearly sign posted from the main road and is now fully accessible for disabled waterskiers.

The disabled waterskiing side of the club has many facets. We are part of the British Disabled Water Ski Association (BDWSA) and the South West centre for waterskiing for the disabled. As such we provide the perfect environment for you to realise that you can waterski even with disabilities. Our disabled skiers cover many different disabilities with some having limb disabilities and other have sight or learning difficulties.

This does not stop them and with the help of our wonderful disabled helpers they are able to accomplish what they previously thought unattainable. Some of our disabled waterskiers have excelled in competitions at National, European and World levels.

The club can accommodate disabled waterskiers (who do not require assistance) at any time and we have a wide range of equipment and wetsuits / drysuits that are available for use. Those who do require assistance or instruction can ski by prior arrangement with the BDWSA (SW), contact details given below If you have a disability then it is best to start out on one of our beginners days.

If you are able bodied and would like to help on these days then we are always looking for extra assistance - and you don't need to be able to waterski or even get wet if you don't want to!

BDWSA (SW) contact details:- Call Peter Viney on or e-mail him at pviney@aol.com
