How We Teach The Disabled To Ski

We have a number of ways to get the disabled active on the water.

The Triple Bar:
For those able to use their legs we utilise the Triple Bar which enables two able bodied skiers to help a disabled skier on a pair of skis get themselves out of the water. Once up they are then able to be supported on either side aiding both their confidence and their stability.

Begin together
Then gradually separate
You're on your own now!

Root 5:
For those not able to or unwilling to stand on a pair of skis we use the Root 5 ski which is like a large sit-on canoe. Two helpers are then positioned either side to aid the skier and ensure they enjoy their time whizzing around behind the boat.

Sitz Ski:

For the more accomplished this framed seated ski is more reactive and precise and you can even tackle the slalom course in it with a bit of practice. Again we use helpers to get you started but many soon find they can manage quite well by thmeselves.

Special Disabled Facilities include: ·

  • New Root 5 skis ·
  • Cool tinted goggles for those who don’t like the splashes ·
  • Fully operational club house complete with hot showers , spacious changing rooms and vending facilities ·
  • Easily accessible and spacious car park ·
  • New Wetsuits and life jackets ·
  • New launch slipway and pontoon dock specifically to aid disabled skiers.
