How We Teach The Disabled To Ski

We have a number of ways to get the disabled active on the water.

The Triple Bar:
The Triple Bar involves two instructors helping the disabled skier (on a pair of skis) get themselves up and out of the water. Once upright they are supported on either side.

Begin together
Then gradually separate
You're on your own now!

Root 5:
The Root 5 (seated) ski is like a large sit-on canoe. Two instructors are positioned either side to aid the skier and ensure they enjoy whizzing around behind the boat.

Sitz Ski:

As your skiing develops, this framed seated ski is more reactive and precise. Again we use helpers to get you started, but as your skiing improves, you may find you can ski independently, and tackle the slalom course with a bit of practice.

In addition, other Disabled facilities includee: ·

  • A clubhouse with hot showers, toilets, spacious changing rooms.
  • A car park complete with accessible parking space.
  • Use of wetsuits, life jackets, and ski equipment (such as helmets and goggles).
  • A launch slipway, pontoon dock and hoist to aid disabled skiers.
