At Ellingham Lake we have the ideal facilities to keep you happy
during your time with us.
The club has two ‘Correct Craft Ski Nautique’ competition boats.
For slalom skiing and barefooting, we have a fantastic 2007 model
European spec 330 hp Ski Nautique, complete with the ‘Perfect
Pass’ speed control system, so you get the exact speed you want
every time. If you are new to waterskiing, we have a training
bar to make the learning experience that little easier and quicker.
As it has a tower it is also ideal for learning to wakeboard.
For more advanced wakeboarding we also have a LPG powered 2005
Correct Craft Super Air Nautique - the official towboat of the
WWA National and World Championships.
(Note: Both boats are protected
by GPS Marine Tracking devices so we know exactly where they are
and are alerted should they move off the lake)
So no excuses, come on down and try your hand at one of the following
disciplines
- Water-skiing :- We have a full six-buoy competition slalom
course, including an inner course. Or you can take it easy around
the lake on two skis, one ski or even on trick skis.
- Wakeboarding:- For the more experienced our Super Air Nautique
boat is equipped with the Launch Control System and patented
Flight Control Tower that raises the towline to 75 inches above
the boat floor, you'll get some serious air off the huge wake.
For the less experienced we can empty the ballast tanks or use
the Ski Nautique so you get a more gentle introduction.
- Barefoot skiing:- Experience the exhilaration of skimming
across the water with no skis at all. Learn first of all on
the bar at the side of the boat and progress through short lines
to the full long line.
- Kneeboarding:- For those of you who feel more at ease not
standing but kneeling , come and try this.
- Jet Skiing:- Sorry - there is no jetskiing at Ellingham Lake,
we only cater for activities behind our club boat. Anyway skiing/wakeboarding
are much more fun and challenging!!!!
- Facilities:- Skis, wetsuits and buoyancy jackets to suit all
ages and sizes (well nearly!!) are available for loan at no
charge. We have Male and Female heated changing rooms, hot showers,
a clubhouse with drinks and snacks and picnic benches where
you can sit and watch the action in front of your very eyes,
hopefully in glorious sunshine.
Apres-Ski
On summer weekends we often have Bar-B-Qs to relax after an enjoyable
days skiing. With the sun setting over the back of the lake it's
an idyllic setting.
