Visitors are more than welcome to ski at Ellingham Lake, the
cost of a tow is £18, payable in advance.
A tow will give you 10 minutes on the water, (free skiing or
wakeboarding) or 6 passes through the slalom course. Skis, wakeboards,
wetsuits and buoyancy jackets to suit all ages and sizes (well
nearly!) are available for loan, this is included in the above
price.
Beginners are welcome and they will be given basic tuition by
a qualified British Water Ski & Wakeboard Instructor. The
Ski boat can be fitted with a training bar which is ideal for
learning. Tuition on dry ground is also available if required.
JUST BRING YOURSELVES!!
We use a simple queuing system and operate on a
first come, first served basis. Visitors place their names only
on the ‘Visitor Slots’ on the board these being every third slot.
The board is by the jetty.
If the club is busy you may leave the club rather
than wait and then return if you wish prior to your go, however
if you are not back in time then unfortunately you will forfeit
your turn.
Please keep an eye on the board and be ready on
the jetty ready to ski when your turn comes. Typically allow five
skiers per hour as a rule of thumb. If you are not ready you may
miss your go.
It is important that you sign the visitors book
(on the jetty) prior to your go. Make sure you are ready and prepared.
If you are not sure about anything ask for Jamie the manager or
any member of the committee who will be pleased to assist.
On finishing your ski please hang out to dry any
borrowed equipment and you are welcome to use the showers as well
as the barbeque.
Drinks and ice creams are available in the club
house and are purchased through Jamie or one of the committee.
For your general information the club does become
very busy especially at weekends. The best times to ski as a visitor
are –
- Weekends – either early when the club opens or towards dusk
before it closes.
- Weekdays – when the club opens at 1 pm, particularly during
term time.
- September – anytime, whilst the weather is still warm and
the schools have gone back.
