So you want to Water Ski? Whether you are a beginner or very experienced,
if you live in or are visiting the Wessex area then Ellingham
is the place to water ski.
Firstly you'll need the best facilities. We have a brand new
Ski Nautique boat (Note: this boat
is protected by a GPS Worldwide Marine Tracking device so we know
exactly where it is at all times) which delivers one of
the flatest wakes around and is highly sought after in the water
ski world. We have used these boats for years now and even though
we have considered alternatives we keep coming back to Nautiques
as so many of the other top water ski locations do too.
We will start you off with some dry land instruction before starting
on the training boom. After that we will try you on the short
line before progressing to the long line. We also have British
Waterksi instructors to teach you (included in the cost of a tow)
and some of the best skiers in the area to give you excellent
tips and advice. You'll soon be itching to start tackling the
slalom course - that's when the fun, and addiction, starts.
You'll all know that to water ski well you've got to have flat
water so what better place than a sheltered lake which only runs
one boat at a time. If you are just learning then you'll need
the correct environment to progress as fast as possible. Anywhere
there's chop, swell or other boat wakes is not going to help you
get to the standard you are capable of. Water skiing on the sea
or in the harbour in less tha ideal conditions will give you bad
habits that become difficult to break.
If you are more experienced you'll know the importance of the
above and will be looking for the advantages of a proper waterkski
club. Our Ski Nautique boat runs the Perfect Pass system so your
speed will be spot-on every time. We have the only full 6 buoy
slalom course on the South Coast and can shorten the line to whatever
you need. So if you are serious about your water skiing we are
the only place to come unless you wish to travel another 80 miles.
If you live in Poole or Bournemouth then you just need to travel
up the spur road to Ringwood, take the Salisbury Road (A338) and
you'll be here in 20 minutes.
If you live near to Southampton then again a quick 20 minute
journey along the A27 will soon have you skiing on the lake in
the best conditions possible.
Remember skiers travel here from all over Hampshire, Dorset,
West Sussex Somerset and Wiltshire, so if they are willing to
make the journey then surely it's worth it for you.
See you soon.......
